The Chocolate Stout Cake (made with 1 pt of Guinness) is ready to go:
The cake weighs 6 lb, the ganache weighs 2 lb, and the plate weighs 1½ lb. It isn’t a dessert, it’s a full-body workout.
The Italian bread looks pretty good. I did scale up, so these are 18-oz loaves (the test loaves were 12 oz). I baked these on a silicone liner on a baking sheet and took them out of the oven right away so the crust won’t be so insanely crunchy.
The Irish soda bread looks pretty good. I baked the test one last week, and Dr. Science thinks it’s boring, but I like it. We’ll see what the rest of them think. This is the brown bread; I used 1 lb of whole wheat pastry flour (no white flour) and real buttermilk.
